Presentation at Emergent Digital Media, Akademie der Bildenden Künste München

Tue, Dec 2, 2025, 16.30–18.00 at Emergent Digital Media class, AdBK, New Building, room E.O3.26

In this talk, Rosemary Lee will present the central themes of her research on the integration of machine learning in artistic practice, drawing from her book “Algorithm, Image, Art” (2024) as well as her own explorations in recent projects “A Structural Plan for Imitation” (2024–5) and “Digital Dark Matter” (2025). As a practicing artist with a background in media archaeology, Lee’s approach seeks to ground the rise of artificial intelligence in relation to historical precursor technologies and their surrounding discourses to inform an understanding of whether and how this shift departs from existing instances from the distant past.
